Our Hiroshima Rural Villa Stay Elopement Experience takes you into the peaceful countryside of Hiroshima Prefecture, where forested hills, small communities and the changing seasons create a very different rhythm of life.
At the heart of the experience is a beautifully restored, century-old Japanese country house, reserved exclusively for you during your stay. This is an opportunity to slow down; to wake to the sounds of nature rather than the city; to wander through a Japanese garden, share meals together, and experience a side of Japan that relatively few international visitors encounter.
And somewhere within those days together, to get married.
Rather than building an entire trip around a few hours of ceremony, your elopement becomes part of something larger: a private stay in rural Japan, surrounded by traditional architecture, gardens, forests and the natural landscape.
And for couples drawn equally to Japanese culture and nature, the experience doesn't have to remain within the villa grounds. A nearby waterfall offers the possibility of taking your ceremony or photography into the landscape, creating two very different sides of Japan within a single elopement experience.
The Experience

As the cities and busy tourist routes fall away, the landscape gradually changes. The journey takes you deeper into the Hiroshima countryside and towards a quieter, slower, more authentic side of Japan.
Once you arrive, there is nowhere you need to rush to next.

The Ceremony Day
Your elopement day begins where you are already staying.
There are no hotel corridors to navigate and no need to spend the morning moving between venues. Instead, you can get ready slowly in the privacy of the villa while we take care of the details around you.
Your ceremony is designed to feel at home within the landscape: intimate, personal and connected to the place you have chosen.
With planning, preparation, ceremony and photography brought together in one private - almost hidden - setting, the focus can remain where it should be: on the two of you and the reason you came here.
Afterward
There is something particularly lovely about not having to leave when the ceremony is over.
There is time to change, sit together, enjoy a celebratory meal or simply watch the light disappear across the countryside.
And the following morning, you wake up not to another wedding schedule, but to another quiet day in rural Japan.
Your Private Rural Villa
The experience centres around a beautifully restored, Japanese country house, approximately 100 years old and set on a secluded hillside in Miyoshi, Hiroshima Prefecture.
Original architectural features have been carefully preserved while the house has been adapted for comfortable contemporary living, creating a space that feels authentically connected to its past without sacrificing the comforts of your stay.
Traditional rooms open towards the surrounding greenery and Japanese garden, while natural materials, timber beams and quiet interior spaces retain the character of an older Japanese home. Outside, the landscape becomes part of the experience.
The garden changes with the seasons, the surrounding hills provide a natural sense of seclusion, and a private sauna offers another opportunity to slow down after a day of travelling, celebrating or exploring.
This is not intended to feel like staying in a hotel: for a few days, it is your home in rural Japan.

Exclusive Use & Privacy
Only one group stays at the Rural Villa each day, giving you exclusive use of the property throughout your stay. There are no other hotel guests, shared corridors or unrelated events happening around your celebration.
That privacy changes the rhythm of an elopement. Getting ready, the ceremony, photography and the quieter moments between them can all unfold naturally without constantly having to move on or make way for somebody else.
It creates something increasingly difficult to find when travelling through Japan: genuine space and time to yourselves.
Your Ceremony Your Setting
Your ceremony can take place within the private grounds of the Rural Villa, surrounded by traditional Japanese architecture, garden and the quiet landscape of rural Hiroshima.
For couples who would like to venture further into nature, there is also the possibility of holding your ceremony or creating part of your photographic story at a picturesque nearby waterfall.
The two settings offer very different experiences.
At the villa, the emphasis is on intimacy, heritage and the atmosphere of an old Japanese country home. At the waterfall, forest, rock and flowing water create something wilder and more elemental.
You don't necessarily have to choose between them.
A ceremony at the villa followed by portraits at the waterfall, or a private ceremony surrounded by nature before returning to the villa to celebrate, allows us to build a day around both sides of the landscape.
Whichever you choose, our approach remains deliberately understated. We work with the environment rather than transforming it into a conventional wedding venue, allowing the place itself to become part of the experience.

We choose our Stay Elopement locations carefully. Not simply because they are beautiful, but because they allow us to create the kind of intimate, unhurried experiences that Elope in Japan is built around.
The Rural Villa offers something quite different from our city and Kyoto locations. Its secluded setting, century-old architecture and exclusive use give couples an opportunity to experience a quieter, hidden Japan, away from crowded sightseeing routes and conventional wedding venues.

Every Rural Villa Stay Elopement is individually created around the couple, so there is no single fixed package price.
As a guide, we anticipate complete experiences beginning from approximately ¥~~~~ for two people, including the required minimum two-night villa stay.
The final cost will depend on the length of your stay, your choice of photography and other wedding professionals, transportation, florals, dining and any additional experiences you would like us to arrange.
